Noteworthy – Tim Jones & Lynsey Blair

I’d like to introduce you to a new ensemble I’ve formed with my dear friend Tim!
Here’s a little background to the awesome legend that is Tim Jones!

Tim retired in the summer of ’21, after 39 years of full time Music teaching. He was also joint conductor of Wrexham County Youth Choir. He has conducted choirs since he was 18 and has traveled to Austria, France, Italy, Holland and Switzerland as a conductor.

For many years he taught singing at Stagecoach Theatre Arts school in Chester, which includes teaching the children’s chorus for professional tours of Joseph, Scrooge, Whistle Down the Wind and Evita.

He has been Musical Director for Tip Top Productions since 1992, in shows as diverse as Annie, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast and Cats at Theatr Clywd this year (2022), which is where we met! He also asked me back to play for Legally Blonde in Storyhouse, Chester (2022) with Castaway Youth Theatre which was huge fun and we are just about to do The Wizard of Oz at the end of September 2023.

Tim “thought” he had retired, until he met me and i mentioned that I’d like to take A level music (I’ve always felt i had a missing piece!) and he said yes he would teach me! Poor man, he probably regrets that!! I’ll update the A level progress in another post!

Tim and i got on from the very first moment, that magical friendship happened where you just get on and it’s like you’ve known each other for years!

We’ve played 5 recitals since June 2022 and our next one will likely be in Feb/March 2024. We also played for our first wedding, Clive and his lovely wife Nic in August 2023 which is very exciting especially as it’s a mutual musical friend and was musical theatre themed!
